From 90’s sitcoms to gripping dramas, streaming sites like Netflix have made it even easier to go back and watch our favourite TV shows again and again. And while we may fall in love with the stories and characters, TV shows are the perfect place to get some chic style inspiration for the new season.
After the acclaimed style edits inspired by the coolest film characters and the most iconic music videos, we’ve put together 5 sustainable looks inspired by our favourite TV characters!
Rachel Green (Friends)
One of the most stylish TV sitcom characters of the 90’s is of course Rachel Green. From her very first moment bursting through the doors of Central Perk in her wedding dress, Rachel Green wowed Friends fans with chic and stylish looks.
For our sustainable Rachel Green look we have paired a simple black knit dress with a smart brown coat and black knee-high boots (a staple in Rachel’s wardrobe). To complete the look, we’ve added a 90’s shoulder bag and simple gold jewellery.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City)
Another style icon from TV history is Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. The chic sitcom protagonist is well known for her unique sense of style. Mixing patterns and prints with gorgeous designer pieces, Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe is bright, colourful and fun.
Pairing this chic lilac maxi skirt with a Stella McCartney graphic tee, we think that this is a look Carrie would be rocking in 2020. Add a pair of strappy heels, an incredible bag and gold jewellery for a sustainably stylish look!

Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Who said vampire-slaying can’t be stylish? Buffy Summers is the iconic vampire slayer with a seriously cool sense of style. Despite being a student by day and vampire slayer by night, Buffy’s wardrobe is the definition of 90’s chic.
For our Buffy Summers look, we’ve recreated one of her most stylish slayer outfits that we think would make the perfect 90’s inspired Autumn/Winter fit! Pair some chic army green trousers with a black jumper and recycled leather jacket for an effortlessly cool Buffy outfit.

Jessica Pearson (Suits)
Looking for some elegant work wardrobe inspiration? Possibly one of the most elegant and powerful TV characters is of course Jessica Pearson. Proving that workwear can still be stylish and chic, Jessica’s wardrobe is full of neutral shades, sharp tailoring and statement blouses.
For a workwear look with the Jessica Pearson seal of approval, pair a sleek midi skirt with a simple knit and sharp blazer. To finish the look, add some elegant heels and bag in keeping with the neutral colour palette. A formal look you can wear from day to night!

Villanelle (Killing Eve)
Even villains need a killer wardrobe. Villanelle is the chic assassin with a bold and stylish wardrobe that everyone is in awe of. From the iconic bubble-gum pink Molly Goddard dress in season 1 to her impressive collection of beautiful suits, Villanelle’s wardrobe is versatile and bright.
For our Villanelle look, we’ve paired a neutral suit with a bold sheer shirt. For accessories and shoes, we’ve taken inspiration from Villanelle’s more androgynous looks with a pair of loafers and simple hoops. And what Villanelle look would be complete without some statement sunglasses.
