It’s been a while since we properly dressed up for work. First, it felt glorious to lounge and work in our comfiest sweatsuits and yoga pants but, at least I did, soon realize that this was not quite a good arrangement for my mental health, routines, nor my work and productivity. So, I needed to take a hard look at my wardrobe and come up with comfy enough work outfits that I could do occasional outings with.
And, I didn’t even need to buy that many new clothes (except a new sweatsuit, that irony). I found my love again for the simplest pieces that are easy to take care of, easy to layer, and combine together.
To tell the truth, I’m super lazy when it comes to dressing up. I usually like to stick with the same outfits that I’ve tried and tested and that’s what I’m doing during the half-quarantining, working at home or occasionally in a café. I found out that for me the most important thing was to actually get dressed up, no matter if I wasn’t going to go anywhere. That morning routine that is so normal for all of us, was the one that kept me sane and still is.
The black suit
If someone was to ask, what outfit I would wear if that was the only outfit, I was allowed to use my whole life, the answer would be a good suit! I love suits and their versatility, endless opportunities, and the fact that you can use one at work, after-party, fancy dinner, or even a cocktail party.
I have here the most basic black suit that is definitely a staple piece for me. It is super easy to wear as you can throw pretty much anything underneath (or nothing if you are feeling like it) and then layer with a trench or a wool coat for a lunch meeting at a café. And then for the dinner, change flats to high heels.

The quality sweatsuit
Then, about that sweatsuit! It definitely needs to be good quality so that you feel like actually wearing something else than your pajamas. I love my Pangaia set as it’s sustainably made, and the brand is really committed to the environmental values. For the lunch break in a café nearby, you can easily dress up a bit by wearing a well-fitting trench coat on top!

That perfect button-up shirt
And lastly, a good button-up shirt! It goes with suits, layered under a sweater, or just like that (with or without proper pants). Pay attention to the finish and material of the shirt and buy a good one. I love mine to be delicate and elegant.

I hope this edit gave you some inspiration! Dressing up and getting ready in the morning gives me structure definitely helps through the weird days at the home office. And lastly, go give some love on my Instagram account, it would be hugely appreciated!
