We think it’s important to integrate inclusivity into the the slow fashion movement. We are aware that ethical brands are often small businesses with reduced collections because of the cost of creating responsible clothing. This is why there are still very few brands that include plus-size on the European market.
Nonetheless we believe clothes are meant to fit you, not the other way around. This week our main focus is on body positive and sustainable brands that aim to represent all women. Below are our favourite 7 sustainable brands offering ethically made plus-size clothing.
1. Sotela
Sotela is an inclusive, body-positive clothing brand and community celebrating bodies of all forms.
They use eco-friendly fabrics that have minimal environmental impacts such as tencel, modal, and linen.
Sizes available : 6 to 34
2. Encircled
Encircled’s clothes are made entirely in Canada. Their designs are thoughtful, versatile and ideal for a capsule wardrobe. Plus, all their fabrics are naturally-derived, biodegradable, and from raw materials that have no pesticides. The dyes are free of harmful chemicals so they’re kinder on your skin, health, and to the planet.
They are committed to high standards of ethics in everything they do, from sourcing local and working with Canadian factories, to practicing zero waste production.

We’re hopeful that new brands will start joining this movement and add new size-inclusive collections. If you know of any other brands, please share them below in the comments section.
